Information Architecture
Information Architecture is the art of filtering a wealth of ideas into achievable plans. Many experts in user experience design or information architecture approach the creation of blueprints for the development of a web site as a preliminary design exercise. We're focused on interactive - it's our first name, and to us that means functionality. Once you know what you want, you can figure out what it should look like.
We typically incorporate some aspect of information architecture into all our projects. Whether we're mapping out what we need to develop, or clarifying existing information architecture documents, it's a constant in effective, organized, non reactive development.
Phase I
For complex or large projects we like to start out with what we call Phase I. Here's a simple explanation. In approximately three weeks we work with a client to create five things: a sitemap, wireframes, interaction diagrams, technical requirements document and our proposal to implement what's been planned. This serves as a great way to get competitive bids and have a clear guideline of what to expect from development. Rather than three pages of vague changes you'd like to make to your existing site you'll have a 50-100 page book. Fee: $10,000
